Policies

CLASS SIZE:

A minimum number of students are required to hold a class. M2 will use its experience in setting the maximum number of dancers per class. This number will vary depending upon the style and level of each class.

SUMMER RECITAL:

It is required that any student participating in recital must attend dress rehearsal. Tuition and costumes payments must be paid in full for your child to participate in recital.

PLACEMENT AND LEVELS OF STUDENTS:

Students are placed in appropriate classes according to age and experience and skill level. Dance classes are not always the same as grade levels in school. Age and readiness is subjective. There is an “end of the year evaluation” taken and issued for the benefit of each student; this is based on the expert opinion of our faculty. The dancer’s best interest is always in mind, a student may not always move to the next level or stay at the same level each year.

ATTENDANCE:

It is the responsibility of your child and their guardian to try to attend every class. If a student will be late or will be missing class, please call or email the studio ahead of time. There are NO REFUNDS given for missed classes.

GENERAL RULES:

Students must arrive 15 minutes prior to class. If a student is 15 minutes late or more, he or she may be asked to sit and watch class. This rule is enforced for the safety of your child. Dress code must be adhered to for every class (appropriate attire is posted at studio). NO CELL PHONES IN THE STUDIO. All cell phones must be turned off during class. No gum, candy or food allowed during class, in the studio or on the dance floor. There is NO SMOKING or use of any alcohol or tobacco products in or around the dance studio.

M2 Dance Center, its owner or representatives are not liable for personal injury, loss or damage of any personal property. Each student is responsible to inform their teacher and front desk of any injury or limitations they may have that may prevent them from participating fully in class. Our student’s health and safety is our priority. If you are injured it is to your benefit to attend and watch class.

VIDEOGRAPHY and PHOTOGRAPHY:

M2 Dance is entitled to use videography and photography throughout the year. The use of these may be used for advertising and other events. A professional photographer and videographer will be provided for purchase of recital pictures and videos. By purchasing or using them you must adhere to the copyright rules and regulations of the companies. M2 Dance Center is not responsible for any misuse that may go against these regulations.

BIRTHDAY PARTIES:

If you are interested in celebrating your student’s birthday with us at the M2 Dance Center, please ask the front desk for detailed information and pricing.

COMPETITION ELIGIBILITY:

Students who are invited to participate in competitions throughout the year must be enrolled in at least three to six classes a week, and one of these classes MUST be ballet. As a student on the competition team you and your guardian will be required to sign a competition team contract and adhere to those and all of the studio policy rules. By participating in competitions, you are required to also make competition entry fees, convention fees and competition costume payments on time. Fund-raising ideas are encouraged and welcomed. All money raised will be distributed to participating students to help with competition expenses.

TUITION and REGISTRATION:

No Refunds, Transfers or Credits of payments are given due to dropped or missed lessons.

If tuition is past due, the student will not be allowed to participate in class. If there is an outstanding balance at recital time, the dancer may not be allowed to participate in the show.
